Ensure Smooth Operations with a Detailed Production Schedule

Small and mid-sized arts and cultural organizations often operate with a lean team, meaning everyone is important.

But how prepared are you if something happens?

Could you continue on smoothly if a key staff member got sick on the day of a performance?

Having a detailed production schedule will provide the road map needed for someone else to pick up the ball and run with barely a notice.

A useful production schedule maps out all the moving pieces and who is responsible:

  1. You'd start with adding rehearsals and performances.

  2. Next, detail the day, time, person responsible, and how anything or anyone will get from point A to point B.

  3. Finally, it should include every relevant person's name and phone number.

In addition to your internal team, you should also include contacts for the venue, the hotel where the artist is staying, and so on.

The last thing you want to be doing in an unexpected situation is searching for a phone number.
